A Professor in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and Curriculum and Instruction at Indiana University. She is also Director of the Center for International Education, Development and Research (CIEDR) in the IU School of Education. Her research interests focus on the comparative study of constructions of democracy and citizenship education in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. The President of the U.S./The White House and the U.S. Agency for International Development have recognized Kubow’s international democratic education work.

Scholarship

Her scholarship has received distinguished research awards from the American Educational Research Association and the Association of Teacher Educators.

Publications

Kubow’s co-authored textbook, Comparative Education: Exploring Issues in International Context, is used in schools of education in more than 15 countries.
